The Activities Coordinator plans and executes all therapeutic recreation activities. This position assists residents to develop, maintain and participate in all appropriate leisure lifestyles. In the absence of the Director of Activities, the Activities Coordinator will supervise the operations within activities.

In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, night and /or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. Job Requirements

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred X Required

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
CPR/AED Required from American Heart
Computer skills: demonstrated ability to use computers (email, spreadsheets, presentations etc.)Communication skills: excellent verbal, written and intrapersonal communication skills.
Geriatric Population: ability to work comfortably with the elderly.
Minimum Work Experience
Requires 1 year of work experience.  Preferably - Experience in a Long Term Care setting.
