SOVAH Health - Danville

Responsible for the development and implementation of a behavioral science rotation for the residents, including lectures, conferences and other educational activities focusing on aspects of behavioral science.  Supervises residents in doctor/patient encounters from a behavioral science point of view.

Job Requirements

Advanced Degree in the behavioral science field.  A master’s level degree or doctorate is preferred.
Experience in teaching, psychotherapy, and working in a team situation with adults.  Experience in residency education a plus. Licensure as appropriate by the State of Virginia based on credentials. 
Proficient in the use of computer to send and receive email and create Word documents and Powerpoint presentations

  • Decision Making and Problem Solving – Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Team Building – Able to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
Must administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating the residents in each of the ACGME competency areas. Must be competent in electronic communication modalities, and possess effective written and oral communication skills.
