Providence Health – Northeast Campus is currently looking for a Certified Pharmacy Tech for our team.

Essential Functions:

 

  • Accurately and aseptically reconstitutes parenteral medications and compounds IV solutions, irrigations, and other specialty solutions.

  • Accurately fills and labels first dose medication in unit dose and assist in cart fill procedures as required.

  • Tubes orders through pneumatic tube system in timely manner or as required makes delivery of medications, IV solutions, or controlled substances. Included in distribution process is daily delivery of IV batch solutions to nursing units and retrieval of discontinued or changed solutions.

  • Receives and reviews physicians' orders for computer order entry into patient profile prior to verification by RPh. Brings orders for "stats" or "now orders" to the attention of the RPh.


Job Requirements

MinimumWork Experience

One plus yearsof experience as pharmacy technician in hospital or retail required. Hospitalexperience (including IV therapy) highly desirable. Time to train internally isapproximately 8 weeks

MinimumEducation

High schooldiploma required. Completion of formalized technician training program orequivalent experience desired. Includes special training/ licensure andspecific skills required/preferred.
