Facilitates improvement in the overall quality, completeness, and accuracy of clinical documentation. Through concurrent interaction with physicians, case managers, coders and other health care team members, strives to ensure comprehensive medical record documentation that reflects the clinical treatment, decisions, and diagnosis for all inpatients.

Job Requirements

Required Licenses
[United States] Clinical Documentation Improvement
Certified Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement CDI Practitioner Preferred
Licensed Registered Nurse or LPN (current Wyoming RN License or compact equivalent or Licensed Wyoming LPN or combination of the following preferred:

Minimum Work Experience
Prior experience in clinical documentation improvement and/or coding accuracy preferred

Required Skills
Knowledgeable of the principles of process improvement including data collection, analysis and reporting. Possess thorough understanding of Protected Health Information (PHI) associated with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
