Person Memorial Hospital

Management of financial operations include, but are not limited to: Performing month-end closing activities; assisting with Medicare Exhibits; assisting with SMA (Managed Care Accrual); preparing month-end account reconciliation’s; maintaining statistical database; assisting with health system budget process; maintaining Fixed Asset System; maintaining facility A/R and Physician A/R, assisting with all other daily activities of the Accounting/Finance Department and performing special projects as directed by the CFO.
Plans and monitors staffing activities as Productivity Manager, on the Labor Management Action Team, including hiring, orientation, evaluations, disciplinary actions, continuing education, and productivity reports. Monitors productivity and staffing compared to target for volume and budget. Reviews variances with departments weekly.

Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets and helps ensure that the departments operate in compliance with funding allocated.

Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

Assist CFO with all phases of the physical inventory count beginning with early planning, reviewing with departments proper counting procedures, following-up with prompt keying and posting of inventory by Materials Management. Review role of Accounting teams and expectations during spot checks.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages growth and learning.

Ensures departments focus on their role in the continuum of care as it relates to financial decisions and performance.

Completes accounting activities for organization such as preparation of annual cost reports, completion of tax packages, completion of hospital license renewal application, required surveys, etc.

Analyze and understand how the financial systems work and interface and ensure accuracy and compliance of internal control and SOX controls.

Assist CFO with monitoring departmental budgets, and ensures the departments operate in compliance with financial and accounting principles.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree highly recommended or equivalent combination of accounting experience.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.


Required Skills
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to manager multiple projects and tasks.

Minimum Work Experience
  • Three to five years of experience in finance or accounting preferably in a hospital setting.
