Summary:
Underthe direction of the DCQI/RM, is responsible for managing and coordinating theoperations, functions, and objective of the Clinical Quality Department.Responsible for ensuring staff coordinates patient care activities to conformto evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements. Responsible forcollaboration with physician and other healthcare disciplines to assurepositive interdisciplinary workflow and service excellence. Assist withcoordinating all Joint Commission and Hospital quality council activities andmakes recommendations based on standards and best practices. Assist withmanagement of performance measurement and improvement activities designed toimprove patient care and patient safety. Assist with implementation of qualityobjectives related to the performance improvement program. Responsible forcoordination of peer review and mortality review.
  1. Maintains knowledge of current core measure dataabstraction guidelines
  2. Develops and communicates annual reportingschedule for all performance improvement activities
  3. Functions as a resource for department directors
  4. Assists with physician review activities
  5. Maintains working knowledge of quality initiatives
  6. Serves as a resource on the Joint Commission,State and Federal regulations
  7. Collects, enters, analyzes and presents qualityimprovement data and activities
  8. Participates with leaders in the development andrevision of indicators and monitoring activities
  9. Assists with validation of abstracted quality data
  10. Prepares reports for presentation to medical andhospital committees
  11. Coordinates provider and nursing peer reviewcommittees
  12. Assists in initiatives to improve/maintain coremeasure scores
  13. Provides education to employees related to qualityimprovement initiatives
  14. Participates in the department process improvementplan
  15. Performs databasequeries as needed

Job Requirements

RequiredEducation

Bachelor’s degree is required.
Required License:
Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required (or compact state)
Required Certification: 
CPPS and/or CPHQ desirable
American Heart Association BLS is required
