Job Description

UP Health System - Marquette

$5000 sign on payable after start.

Administers anesthetic care for patients requiring anesthesia, sedation, and/or pain relief therapy.

Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation/education of the patient.

Administers preanesthesia medication as well as anesthesia (general, regional, local, or moderate sedations).

Develops and implements a plan of care, including post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care. Provides invasive and noninvasive monitoring of patient's condition and responds to abnormal responses.

Assists with providing emergent care by providing airway management; administering emergency fluids, blood, and drugs; and performing life support techniques.

Performs clinical support functions including managing materials and supplies and developing clinical policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
Required Skills
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
Licenses
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Michigan required
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) required
Minimum Work Experience
  • 6 months related experience required
