Job Description

Assist the Administrative Team and the Board of Directors in developing and maintaining physician relations and services between the medical staff and the hospital to promote quality health care delivery and in response to community need.

Support the development and implementation of Strategic and Medical Staff Development Plans.

Lead physician recruitment.

Develop business and marketing plans.

Manage existing physician agreements.

Prioritizes accomplishment of goals, objectives, and ideas to meet the changing needs of the hospital.

Anticipates problems and proceeds with resolution in an organized, effective manner.

Handles stressful situations with tact and poise.

Reviews and updates Medical Staff Development Plan.
Recruits physicians in accordance with the Medical Staff Development Plan.
Works collaboratively with recruitment firms and/or individual physicians/practices.
Provides services to assist new physicians including guiding hospital tours, assisting new physicians with networking and becoming established in the community, and providing new physicians with the appropriate references to assist them in setting up their practice.
Recruits physicians to participate in Health Connections' health fairs and speaking engagements.
Assists in negotiating and managing private practice agreements and hospital-based physician employee/group agreements.
Promotes diversity.
Visits physicians in their offices to discuss experiences with the hospital, concern, and/or complaints.
Relays information from physician meetings to the appropriate hospital personnel and assists in the resolution of those needs or problems relative to SMH. Follow up with physicians timely to come to resolution. Builds physician loyalty by enhancing physician communication.
Executes relationship building, follow-up, and information tracking system. Reports findings weekly to Administrative Team.
Implements additional monitors, physician satisfaction survey and action plan.
Grows referral volume and revenue through effective targeting, overcoming objections, and follow through with physicians.
Gathers market intelligence for action and/or informational purposes.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration, marketing or related field is required.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Work Experience
A minimum of one years' experience in the healthcare-related field with organizational and interpersonal skills involving physicians, administration and other healthcare professionals is required. Preferred experience in physician recruitment/practice management. A minimum of one year of marketing experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
