Bluegrass Community Hospital conveniently located just 12 minutes from Lexington has an exciting opportunity for the right professional to join our Medical / Surgical team!    This is a full time position and will direct the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.  This position will:

- Develop and implement departmental goals, policies and procedures and standards consistent with clinical administrative, legal and ethical

requirements/objectives of the organization

- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives

- Plans and monitors staffing activities including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives

- Prepares, monitors and evaluates departmental budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.  Coordinates and directs internal/external audits

- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols

- Performs primary function of a professional nurse leader in planning, directing, organizing and evaluating patient care activities within the nursing department.   Participates in development and implementation and maintenance of the Nursing Services and Quality Improvement Program

- Utilizes the nursing process and approved Standards of Care and Practice to provide quality individualized nursing care to assigned patients

Job Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing and Kentucky RN license - Required

Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

BLS - Required

ACLS and PALS - Preferred

Must be able to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systems

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Must be able to successfully complete skills competency checklist within 60 days of hire

Efficient organizational skills are required and candidate should be self-directed with tasks and assignments

Must have excellent customer service and computer skills
