Person Memorial Hospital

Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
Reviews project and work order requests to determine service needed and evaluates the time, materials, labor and related costs necessary to meet the request.
Performs skilled trades/technical activities necessary for installation/physical set-ups to meet design requirements.
Identifies potential safety hazards in work areas and takes appropriate action to ensure safety of self and others.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

High Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.

Two year Associate Degree in plant operations or related field, Bachelor Degree preferred.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
An extensive knowledge of facility management acquired through minimum of 5 years experience in preventive and repair maintenance of hospital or health care facilities. Must be familiar with N.F.P.A. & Life Safety regulations and procedures. Prefer experience with JCAHO standards. Supervisory experience preferred.
On-Call responsibilities are required.
Licenses:Valid North Carolina Driver's License
