Frye Regional Medical Center

Evaluates operations of the pharmacy department utilizing the principles of continuous process improvement. Develops and implements action plans to address variances and improve efficiency
Ensures patient safety, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice
Identifies staffing needs. Selects, trains, mentors, evaluates and counsels staff as appropriate.
Communicates with staff and promotes staff ownership in problem solving and participation in operational decision-making.
Controls and reduces costs, forecasts operational needs, and reviews expenditures to ensure budget limits are not exceeded
Remains visible and accessible to physicians, seeking input and feedback on services, medical staff bylaws, and policy/procedure changes
Recent pharmacy experience in an acute care hospital or other inpatient care settingAbility to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and deal effectively with change
Ability to work collaboratively with pharmacy staff and other members of the hospital
Stays up-to-date on new developments in healthcare, incorporating innovative systems of delivery while complying with all regulatory and licensing agencies
Participates on hospital committees as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum EducationPharmacy degree (BS or PharmD)
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:Current and valid North Carolina Board of Pharmacy license or eligibility for licensure in the state of North Carolina
Minimum Work Experience5+ years’ experience in a lead or supervisory role in a pharmacy
