The Clinical Adoption Analyst, Ambulatory Systems reports to the Director of Clinical Adoption, Ambulatory Systems within Clinical HITS.  This role educates providers and others in the LifePoint practices on documentation within the computer system, focusing on supporting workflow and meeting quality and regulatory standards using course material and training guidelines developed by others.  

This role is primarily responsible for new deployments of LifePoint-supported systems, but may also be involved in assisting with optimization activities to heighten adoption or success in the system to meet expectations.  

This individual has the responsibility of supporting upgrades, projects implementing new functionality and routine maintenance. The Clinical Adoption Analyst must have credible knowledge of the software and its clinical functionality as it relates to clinic workflow including documentation, orders, medications, and other tasks and functionality.  

This is a position based in Brentwood, TN at the HSC and requires travel up to 75%.

General Responsibilities:
  • Assesses end-user training needs and resources
  • Demonstrates proficiency with the LifePoint-supported applications and develops a strong understanding of current clinical and business processes, practices, and workflows in order to effectively train users
  • Provides on-going end-user and new employee training
  • Provides on-site support during initial go-live, optimization and for new functionality
  • Seeks support and clarification from others on the Clinical Adoption team as needed.  
  • Keeps supervisors and others apprised of barriers or delay in achieving training goals.
  • Works with the HITS teams and practice leaders to coordinate training issues and risks associated with projects, using standard tools and processes. 
  • Collaborates with the project team to populate/establish training environments for training activities. 
  • Applies principles of adult learning theory, group dynamics, group facilitation, needs analysis, program design and evaluation, and change management into day-to-day practice and program offerings 
  • Administers and documents basic skills assessments and competency exams to end-users, tracking completion.
  • Coordinates training logistics; utilizes training communication plans to provide an awareness of educational offerings; procure supplies and materials and manages scheduling and registration for classes
  • Collaborates with clinical business partners to define role-based workflows within clinical applications
  • Generates and shares training metrics and reports based on class attendance and evaluations
  • Actively participates in change management (fixes and enhancements) in order to assist staff in adopting new functionality and workflows
  • Conducts specialized training (i.e. new employee orientation, mock-up, etc.) as required or assigned by management. 
  • Acts as Team Lead on large implementations when needed

Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited College or University or a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an outpatient healthcare environment. 
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups
  • Able to work independently
  • Experience with training large groups
  • Experience with training in a face-to-face clinic environment
  • 3-5 years eCW and/or athenaClinicals training experience and demonstrated use of training methods required.
  • Experience with instructing the use of Dragon Dictation software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications 
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical workflows
  • Experience with performing remote training
  • Solid understanding of a clinical environment
  • Possess energy and enthusiasm required to work successfully on multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
  • Perform training using appropriate tools and methods, assisting users in effectively utilizing systems to meet business needs. 
  • Experience in a lead, supervisor, or educator role, with responsibilities for teaching others how to use software applications
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
