Person Memorial Hospital

Under the general supervision of the CEO, provides leadership for and administration of Nursing Care Center operations of the Person Memorial Extended Care Unit.  Ensures compliance with established corporate objectives and the provision of quality, economical services. Work is of a highly confidential nature. Performs other work of the department and is responsible for assigned sections on a 24-hour basis.

1.      Defines the mission for the department, and shares the

          corporate vision with assigned staff.

2.      Directs operations and administration of the department under the general guidance of his/her Administrative Representative.

3.      Develops and directs assigned personnel in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

4.      Communicates, coordinates and/or collaborates with Administrative Representative, other staff and management personnel, physicians, peers, outside officials, vendors and consultants with regard to departmental and corporate

          activities and issues.

5.      Oversees the procurement, sets up, use and/or maintenance

         of equipment, supplies and work areas.

6.      Oversees/maintains skill competence, and assumes 

         responsibility for professional development and on-going

        education.

7.    Performs miscellaneous duties, as needed.

Job Requirements

A baccalaureate degree (Masters preferred) in business administration, preferably in healthcare administration, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a position of nursing home management; or completion of at least 2 years of college coursework with current LNHA credential in the State of North Carolina and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a position of nursing home management required.
