JOB SUMMARY

Supports function and goals of the Education Department.

  1. Coordinate hospital orientation program for new employees, including preparation of materials and facilitation of program to ensure successful organizational socialization. Education Specialist will be knowledgeable, approachable and confident in front of all groups of people.
  2. Serve as a primary contact for routine Education related inquiries from managers and staff.  Research and respond to issues.  Escalate more complex inquiries to the appropriate resource.
  3. Perform a variety of specialized, complex activities in the coordination of educational services for the assigned department.  Strong emphasis on proactive problem resolution and departmental communications. 
  4. Provide administrative assistance to the Director of Education and Clinical Nurse Educators with educational operations, compliance standards and maintaining records.  Schedule and organize meetings/classes/events and maintain agendas.
  5. Coordinate the recording and maintenance of Education data and the generation and distribution of related reports and information (data requests, Lifetalent assignment reports, certification audit, etc.).
  6. Assist in the preparation and distribution of communications to managers, staff, vendors and outside entities. 
  7. Assist with hospital’s learning management system: running reports, assigning courses, building courses, etc.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful

environment and take appropriate action. Three years of administrative experience in a high volume setting; HR experience highly preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Understands the importance of providing good customer service.

Ensures new hires are on-boarded properly.

Responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting staff, while maintaining confidentiality.

High school diploma or equivalent required

Associate’s degree preferred
