The Financial Operations Analyst supports all financial and analytical functions for the Physician Services Department and analyzes and reports data that support the business decisions and initiatives of the Physician Services Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.  

  • Partner with the Practice Operations Local and Leadership Teams to provide market support, budgeting, and relationship management between physician compensation, productivity and financial reporting.
  • Develop and analyze financial reporting related to the key operational indicators for the Physician Services and enforce standardized processes and internal controls, including managing data and systems related to financial reports and assisting with monthly and quarterly provider-related financial statements.
  • Develop, prepare and rollout the Physician Services Monthly Operating Reports (MOR), or Monthly Financial Re-view (MFR) Reports, as well as other daily and monthly reports, tracking information and analyzing the financial impact within these reports.   Ensure the support to address the financial impact.
  • Assist the Physician Services leadership teams in explaining and evaluating monthly and quarterly financial statement results.  Ensure group leadership teams have adequate financial information to explain their results. 
  • Serve as Administrator for the budget system and assist the overall budget process to include system enhancements and modifications, testing of the budget system, training, reporting, review, etc.
  • Complete monthly revenue reconciliation and annual revenue (AR) valuation process (ARMAPs) at the Health Support Center (HSC).
  • Train and support the operations support team and market leadership on applicable financial systems.
  • Prepare financials for multiple facility and post all facilities to the general ledger working closely with facilities to obtain final approval and ensure all internal controls are followed and documented. 
  • Lead departmental accounting improvement, COID Consolidation projects and ongoing standardization of physician services accounting practices, training end users on functions such as cash clearing.
  • Provide month-end accounting functions for Physician Services and collaborate with other departments, as needed, to ensure allocations to facilities and completion of all OmniPoint month-end accounting functions.  
  • Track provider recruitment scorecard and meaningful use electronica health record (EHR) incentive payments, providing reports, as needed.
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements for Physician Services to include standardization, balance sheet reviews, develop and monitor internal controls, etc.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of operational efficiencies for all financial systems used by Physician Services department by providing ad hoc reporting, participating in special projects such as employed providers/practices, physician recruitment, physician on-boarding (employed and income guarantee), employed practice revenue cycle, and in-market practice acquisitions.

  • Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Exhibit a basic understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).  Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years at a Big 4 Accounting firm or experience in an internal audit capacity.
  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 20%) by land and/or air.
