Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to work as needed.  Predominately working Monday - Friday. Current needs are 40 hours per week.

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will contribute to the organizational goals and objectives by providing assistance in the daily administrative functions of the Human Resources Department while adhering to company policies and regulatory compliance, mandates of confidentiality, equal opportunity and other applicable employment laws.  

The HR Generalist will work under the general supervision of the HR Director and shall execute the following duties and responsibilities in a diligent, forthright, and ethical manner:

  • Collect, analyze, and report workforce statistics to include turnover and retention rates, and other worker related information as needed

  • Prepare reports using narratives, graphs, spreadsheets or other illustrations

  • Assist in the talent acquisition process by posting positions, coordinating interviews, writing letters of rejection and  employment offers, checking references, or performing other duties as required

  • Process pre-employment paperwork and coordinating onboarding new hires including new employee orientation

  • Assist in the audit and maintenance of personnel files as needed

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with employees, management and administrative personnel

  • Performs duties in an independent and efficient manner making the most effective use of time and resources

Job Requirements

The Human Resources Generalist should ideally have a four (4) year degree, or a minimum of two (2) year Associate Degree with at least five (5) years of human resources.  In addition, the HR Generalist is required to have the following attributes, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Experience in providing training or making presentations

  • Knowledge of Employment and Labor Laws

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft software and database management

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with employees and the public

  • Organized, efficient, analytical, detail and goal oriented

  • Must exercise critical thinking, independent judgment, and decision making

  • Conflict resolution skills
