Central Carolina Hospital

Assumes the day-to-day supervision and smooth function of Human Resources.
Assists department directors/ managers and/ or supervisors with paperwork and process for staffing and solving employee issues.  Processes and monitors fair and economical application of workers compensation, unemployment, and employee benefits issues.  Assists CEO, CFO and CNO with special projects, research and assignments.   Makes job offers and facilitates onboarding process.    Assures all employee information is processed accurately. Facilitates education of directors to HR policies and procedures.  Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. 
Duties include, but are not limited to:
1.  Supervises day-to-day activities in the Human Resources Department.
2.  Anticipates employee problems; alerts CEO and/or Regional HR Business Partner to issues for proactive resolution.
3.  Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple assignments, balance priorities; makes decisions appropriately and timely.
4.  Participates in Labor Management (LMAT) process; attends LMAT meeting.
5.  Calculates pay rates and extends job offers.
6.  Facilitates onboarding process of new employees.
7.  Collects data; prepares reports; provides recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
8.  Serves as resource for managers, HR staff and employees for leaves of absence.
9.  Processes claims for unemployment; participate in appeals.
10.  Maintains thorough documentation.
11.  Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, federal, state and local employment laws.
12.  Interacts with department directors/ managers on a wide range of staff issues.
13.  Procures contract staff as requested; obtains and maintains compliance documentation.

Job Requirements

Successful candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.   (REQUIRED)       

1-3 years previous experience in human resources in a hospital or medical management setting

1-2 years previous supervisor experience

Other Minimum Abilities / Aptitudes

Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
Ability to compile data for statistical analysis
Able to cope with customers in difficult and/ or confrontational situations
Able to work on smoke-free campus
