Clinical Informatics
The Clinical Informatics Coordinator shall be responsible for operations related to the implementation, delivery and maintenance of the electronic medical records; including HMS, CQI and MedHost. Additionally assumes primary responsibility for education of staff and updates to the systems. Acts as a liaison between all departments, medical staff and HMS/LPNT related to HMS and other systems
Provides planning, organization, preparation, coordination, standardization and education for all clinical and nursing documentation applications. Works with clinical departments to ensure that clinical applications support quality care and regulatory compliance. Serves as a liaison between the Clinical Departments and IT, to ensure clear and effective bi-direction communication related to user needs and system capabilities.
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
    administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
    Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Ensures that the staff performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/heath care errors.
  • Assures that the staff follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. Assures that the staff has the ability to demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served. Able to interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide care needed by patients.
  • Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.  Collaboratively works with staff to participate in ongoing Quality performance improvements throughout the year
  • Ensures all staff is educated regarding pain Management. Review
  • Documentation of pain management as it relates to hospital policy and procedure. Responsible to communicate findings of results to all staff.

Job Requirements

Current Nursing License preferred.

Must have BLS within 60 days.
