Job Description

Bolivar Medical Center

Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.

Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing. Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques. Maintains equipment and medical supplies Arterial puncture performance. COVID/Flu/RSV/Strep swabbing on outpatients. Load Iris, and Sysmex with barcoded specimens. Responsible for Phlebotomy supply volumes on a weekly basis. Loading/unloading supplies. Maintaining storeroom including monitoring expired items. Assist Pathologist with Bone Marrow slide preparation.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred

Required Skills
Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
