Colorado Plains Medical Center

Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.   Provides general nursing duties and assistance to the supervising physician and/or nurse practitioner/PA who is providing primary care to patients of all ages in a health clinic.  May be assigned to work in other clinics.  Part Time.

Job Requirements

Requires:  Graduate of School of Nursing as a LicensedPractical Nurse; Possession of a valid, current Colorado license as a LicensedPractical Nurse as approved by the Colorado State Board of Nurse Examiners; andcurrent BLS certification.  Prefer oneyear professional nursing experience in a clinical setting. Requires:  Excellent customer service skills; excellentcritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work withminimal supervision; skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods,and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care; knowledgeof the professional nursing theory and practice; excellent interpersonal skills;ability to maintain confidentiality of all information; ability to multi-task;ability to prioritize; ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines andprocedures; ability to problem solve; ability to effective communicate verballyand in writing; must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action; basic computer skills; ability to gain knowledge and adhereto organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patientcare; ability to gain knowledge and effectively utilize medical equipment andinstruments to administer patient care; skill in identifying problems andrecommending solutions; skill in preparing and maintaining records, writingreports and responding to correspondence skill in developing and maintainingdepartment quality assurance.; skill in establishing and maintaining effectiveworking relationships with patients, peers, medical staff, and the public; abilityto maintain quality control standards; ability to follow oral or writtendirections given by physician, supervisor, or department leader; and knowledge,skills and abilities to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs ofthe patients served in the assigned practice. These skills include:age-appropriate communication skills, safety needs, patient teaching,medication administration, physical/functional growth and development, nutritionalneeds and psychosocial development.
