The Medical Physicist possesses the understanding of the technical aspects of radiation oncology and Medical Physics to perform a variety of duties related to dosimetry, radiation safety, calibration of radiation equipment, and quality assurance to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: The Physicist must have appropriate training and education for the position. A Masters’ Degree in Medical Physics is required. Board Certified in Medical Physics from ABR or ABMP.

EXPERIENCE: The Medical Physicist will possess a Masters Degree in Medical Physics and a minimum of five years experience outside their training program. Experience with Prostate Brachytherapy, Varian TrueBeam, Stereotactic treatments, Eclipse, and Aria systems is required. If the candidate has the necessary certifications an opportunity exists for additional diagnostic radiology physics.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically, the physicist must be able to stand for long periods, to bend and stoop and to reach above shoulder height. Must be able to lift and move 25 lbs.
