Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist.This position is responsible for collecting, preparing and analyzing specimens, and reporting this information in a prompt manner to the physician for the diagnosis and treatment of their patients.
Duties included, but are not limited to the following:
- Able to perform/knowledge of all items in the Competency Assessment Booklet and takes initiative to complete competencies within different areas (blood bank, histology, etc.)
- Maintains phlebotomy proficiency and meets collection time standards.
- Completes all testing following state and federal guidelines.

Education
-Bachelor of Science degree with appropriate training required.
Certifications
- ASCP or CLS certification or a minimum of 15 years of direct experience is required.
- BLS certified or willing to obtain within 6 months.
Required Skills
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good computer skills.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Great attention to detail.
