Essential Functions:

  • Primary responsibility for neonate/infant medical management.
  • Provides clinical leadership, sound clinical judgment andskill to assure that a high quality of care is maintained for neonates and infants in-house. 
  • Assesses, plans, initiates, delivers and evaluatesappropriate advanced nursing practice for care/treatment of neonate/infant.
  • Teaching, assigning, delegating, and supervising otherpersonnel in implementing care and treatment plan.
  • Collaborates with other health care provider in determiningthe appropriate health care for the patient and prescribing a medical treatment regimen under the direct supervision oflicensed neonatologist.
  • Provides teaching and counseling about the patient’s healthto the parents or responsible caregiver.
  • Supervises, teaches, and evaluates those who performnursing functions, administers nursing programs and nursing services.
  • Responsible for the treatment and pharmaceutical regimenfor the patient with consultation of the neonatologist.

Job Requirements

Current RN licensure by the State of North Carolina. 

NCBON Certification as NNP.

Current CPR, NRP, PALS, and S.T.A.B.L.E. certification.  

MSN required.
