Job Description for Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery:

1. The Nurse Manager demonstrates leadership behavior and ability to function independently in a decentralized environment.

2. Exercises total confidentiality in matters pertaining to department employees, patients and families.

3. Reinforces and disseminates information, policy decisions and plans as discussed by AD and accepts responsibility to take appropriate disciplinary steps when problems arise in the absence of the AD.

4. Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and skill in specialty area.

5. Ensures supply and equipment needs for area are met.

6. Interviews applicants and makes recommendations for hiring.

7. Completes evaluations for assigned employees.

Job Requirements

Current NC RN license.

Current BLS certification.

National certification, BSN or other activities towards advanced education preferred. Minimum 3-5 years RN experience in specialty area.

1-2 years management experience preferred.
