The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, under the clinical supervision of an Occupational Therapist, performs direct patient care activities using therapeutic procedures and assistive devices intended to maximize functional potentials in all areas of a patient's life.  The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides services in accordance with their State Practice Act, as applicable.

Job Requirements

A.        Educationand Training:  Graduate of an approvedOccupational Therapy Assistant program. Current license, certification or registration in the state of practice,if required by the state for practice. Certification, if applicable, and demonstrated competency in identifiedareas of specialization, including training for age groups likely to be seen inthe medical center.

B.        Experience:  Excellent oral and written communication andinterpersonal skills.  Demonstratedcompetency in applying the principles, methods, materials and equipment used inoccupational therapy.  Ability to understandand follow the directions of the Occupational Therapist and the policies andprocedures of the department.  Knowledgeof accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
