The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for interviewing and entering all required data, maintaining quality and quantity standards, for each patient presenting to Maria Parham Medical Center.  This will include conducting patient interviews, completing appropriate forms, and giving explanations of payment information and any other related hospital policies or regulations.  Responsible for working with patients to assure the hospital receives maximum payment for all services rendered; must be able to communicate with patients and family members faced with emergent, urgent, and non-emergent medical needs; must be able to competently complete government required forms including, but not limited to, Medicare Secondary Payer, Advance Beneficiary Notice, Important Message from Medicare forms.  Responsible for training, supporting and non-disciplinary coaching of Patient Access Specialists.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent Required
Associate’s degree Preferred
