Providence Health are looking for a Patient Account Rep to join our team.
Essential Functions:
  • The Patient Accounts Representative accomplishes accurate/timely billing and follow-up specific to the assigned portion of patient account balances.
  • His/her work will accomplish departmental aging goal and provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • The Patient Accounts Representative computes reimbursement accuracy. He/she verifies each claim is documented with the patient's plan benefits and pre-certification information as necessary, sharing information with Patient Accounts Supervisor when appropriate.
  • Analyzing accuracy of claims and reimbursement on a routine basis to avoid errors, problems, on an on-going basis. Special attention to identifying problems and/or discrepancies, rejections, CPT and/or HCPCS issues, modifier validation, and OCE/CCI edits is a daily expectation.
  • Observes and supports hospital policies without reservation. Facilitates change so as to promote the advancement and application of new knowledge about health care.

Job Requirements

Minimum Work Experience
Two years’ experience in a healthcare financial setting dealing specifically with billing and collection activities. Knowledge Fair Debt Collection Act and State of Federal rules and regulations preferred.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
