Job Summary

Responsible for the daily operations of all business service center managed facility based revenue cycle functions and services as the onsite liaison between the facility and the service center.    


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the daily oversight, management, and direction of all phases of the facilities accounts receivable operation in order to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections from third party payors and patients
  • Support the organization’s strategic plan and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical/compliance requirements and objectives of the organization.  Establishing operational vision, objectives, policies and procedures for assigned department(s) in support of overall strategy, as well as maintaining Key Performance Indicator reporting including benchmarks
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including PTAC information technologies, service level determinations, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing educations initiatives
  • Lead efforts of the department to achieve financial targets, operational goals/budget, and strategic objectives and will help determine how processes can be aligned with best practices to achieve optimal results and measurable change 
  • Demonstrate understanding of hospital and clinic operations and business practices
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth
  • Directs facility patient access functions; maintaining necessary communication between PTAC, the service center, and key facility departments
  • Coordinates with service center and facility departments to manage key performance metrics around upfront collections, timely and accurate registrations, patient flow, unbilled, and patient concerns.

This position will be located at the Harris Regional & Swain Community Hospitals in the Sylva, NC area.  

There will be travel required frequently between these facilities and occasionally to the service center located in Johnstown, PA.  

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

Bachleor’s degree Required 

Master’s degree Preferred


Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Advanced


Minimum Required Work Experience

Six (6) years healthcare revenue cycle experience, four (4) year of supervisory
