SOVAH Health - Martinsville

Provides observation for patients requiring supervision for safety reasons.  This includes patients on suicide precautions and patients with compromised judgment pertaining to safety, interference with therapeutic equipment, patients who need companion due to the state of confusion or agitation.  Assists patients with general comfort needs, meals, re-positioning, bathing and grooming as needed.  Assists patients with bed- chair transfers and will also transport patients as needed.

Job Requirements

Education: HS diploma or GED required. 
Experience: Previous experience in a patient care setting is preferred, but not required.
License/Certification: BLS if not current, training required
Technical Skills: Ability to read and write legibly and carry out direction promptly and accurately.  Exhibition of effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.  Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  Ability to respond quickly and calmly under stressful or emergency situations.  
Other: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/services appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.  Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours.  Fulfills other assigned responsibilities, duties and tasks of them not specifically listed within this job description and as directed by employee’s Director or Administrative representative.
