SOVAH Health - Martinsville

Perform a variety of technical diagnostic examinations associated with the operation of x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of any designated portion of the body.  Observes all regulations concerning radiation protection of patients and staff.  Provides age specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric individuals, i.e., tasks necessary for physical care and comfort, supportive tasks and teaching according to standards of care and cultural diversity. Assures confidentiality of patient information departmental, and hospital affairs. Participates in Quality Improvement and practices infection control polices.

Job Requirements

Education:    Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology.
Experience:  Previous clinical experience in Diagnostic Radiology desired
Skills: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required or registry eligible, BCLS certified.  Proficient in diagnostic exams, fluoroscopy, and invasive procedures/exams.  Knowledge of all diagnostic radiological equipment.  Computer skills desired.  Flexibility in adapting to changing work demands and priorities.
Professionalism:  Possess excellent qualities in communication, adaptability, problem solving, attitude, and organization.
Typical Physical Demands: Full range of motion of upper and lower extremities.  Moving and/or lifting patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.  Pushing equipment > 100 pounds.  Dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.  Standing and/or walking for extensive periods of time.  Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.  Potential for exposure to communicable disease and/or body fluid which require the use of body substance isolation precautions.
