The Resident Assistant preforms a variety of duties to help carry out our vision at Highland House: To create and maintain a safe and caring environment for our residents while providing the comforts of home. Resident assistants provide aid in activities of daily living, such as hygiene care, light housekeeping, and leisure activities under the supervision of the managers and the lead RA. In addition, resident assistants are delegated to administer and monitor medications under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Essential functions
  • Assist with hygiene tasks such as bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Demonstrating interpersonal skills to professionally interact with residents, visitors, families, and coworkers
  • Supervise and assist residents with taking their medications under the direction of the RN
  • Take weights and vital signs
  • Maintain confidentially and dignity of resident records
  • Light housekeeping, such as room cleaning and laundry
  • Arranges and assists with activities
  • Reports changes and observations to management promptly and accurately

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school education or equivalent
  • CBRF related trainings completed within 90 days of employment
  • Experience in the healthcare setting and/or certified nursing assistant preferred
