The respiratory therapist is responsible for providing basic and advanced respiratory Care services in all clinical settings. The therapist plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of Respiratory Care. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is capable of taking charge of all shift and work settings and works independently with minimal supervision and available to the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and Assistant for advice and help. The therapist collaborates with other healthcare providers for the patient's continuum of care.

Job Requirements

Training commensurate with licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina, required. Twelve (12) months experience performing Respiratory Care in a hospital setting, preferred. Must obtain and maintain CPR according to CCH policy. Must be licensed by the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care. Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC or eligible. Other Minimum Abilities / Aptitudes: ACLS, PALS, NRP current. Basic computer skills. Able to work on smoke-free campus.
Schedule: PRN as needed; will include nights, weekends, holidays
