Providence Health in Downtown Columbia are looking for a skilled Revenue Cycle Business Intelligence Manager to join their team.
 
Essential Functions
  • Executes Support Services strategies to maintain and manage key performance indicators within the Department.
  • Provides insight on how to streamline and automate processes with available tools to maximize the effectiveness of the Revenue Cycle process.
  • Participates in various IT-related steering committees for information technology changes which affect the Revenue Cycle and department specific work streams
  • Coordinates communication with Information Technology to ensure appropriate systems, enhancements, and tools are utilized to effectively manage day to day Revenue Cycle operations.
  • Supports organization to ensure optimal planning, delivery and outcomes of analytic and data requests and initiatives.
  • Collaborates with software vendors, ensure configuration of patient management system meets standardized business process requirements, ensure technologies used by the Revenue Cycle functions are supported to perform business operations, participate during evaluation of potential technology solutions, develop and / or approve business process requirements necessary for technology modifications.
  • Promote effective interdisciplinary teamwork that results in high quality, cost effective, and coordinated services which are responsive to the needs of patients, physicians, employees, Revenue Cycle administration, and appropriate external organizations.
  • Facilitates communication and promotes integrated operations between Patient Access Services functions, Patient Financial Services functions, Systems and Support functions, and other departments within the facilities and health system.
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in Revenue Cycle Services and Systems and Support by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  • Oversees the creation of, coordinates and implements effective training programs for staff education and proficiency on Revenue Cycle systems.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with key functions outside of Revenue Cycle to ensure strategic alignment with broader organizational goals and objectives
  • Serves as manager and coordinator for Revenue Cycle on system implementation projects, managing project plan and coordinating tasks and functions among all areas of the revenue cycle, working closely with Information Systems and third party vendors as applicable.
  • Provides written and oral reports and presentations to Revenue Cycle leaders and others on project status and risks.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates performance, disciplines, and makes recommendations for salary increases for personnel under direct responsibility; oversees and approves these actions for other personnel of the department.
  • Manages and oversees planning, coaching and performance appraisals as it relates to managing people.
  • Manages relationships between the functional areas of the Revenue Cycle and works with cross functional peers to ensure that their operational support needs are satisfied.
  • Demonstrates leadership and commitment to staff and colleagues by accepting accountability for outcomes, sharing timely information, building effective relationships and communicating clearly and directly.
  • Ensures that the systems supporting the Revenue Cycle are efficient, operating at the anticipated standards, and current in order to be compliant with both regulatory requirements and contemporary practice.
  • Manages Revenue Cycle information systems, including ensuring systems support workflow and upgrades are completed in a timely manner.
  • Leverages and integrates available technology to deliver more efficient and effective management of information and Revenue Cycle transactions.
  • Ensures systems utilized provide bi-directional communication between payers, strong bill editing functionality and flexible workflow management to compliment billing and collection processes.

Job Requirements

Minimum Work Experience
  • 3-5 Years of leadership experience
  • 5-7 Years of Revenue Cycle or related System and Support experience
  • 3 or more years project management experience

 

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, business, finance, or healthcare administration, required. Master’s degree preferred.

Required Skills

Significant understanding of healthcare business and finance principles; knowledge and understanding of all revenue cycle functions; clear understanding of the impact systems and support functions have on revenue cycle operations and financial performance; ability to analyze complex, technical problems and the ability to conduct a variety of studies and reports to determine appropriate resolutions and recommendations on given issues.
