Job Description

Bolivar Medical Center

Assists director with the coordination and direction of patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and hospital policy is followed

Assists director in the completion of regular performance evaluations for each staff member

Assists in providing the safety and comfort of patients and the health and safety of department staff

Assists the Nurse Manager in evaluating and setting standards for the department and equipment; assists with monitoring utilization of equipment and supplies

Provides input in formulating patient care policies and procedures

Serves as a clinical resource person to staff and other departments

Provides direction for teaching patients and their families and other educational activities

Assists with obtaining monthly data needed for required department stats

Assists with reviewing and correcting the department’s daily Revenue Usage

Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments, and staff

Attends committee, CQI, and management meetings as appropriate

Assists in resolving personnel and patient concerns at the department level, utilizing the grievance process as required

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Associate’s degree
Bachelor’s degree - Preferred

Required Licenses
[Mississippi, United States] Registered Nurses
Must have a current Mississippi Registered Nurse license or a current Compact State Registered Nurse license
Required Skills
Must have an updated American Heart Association approved Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. If employee does not have a current ACLS, PALS or NRP at time of hire or transfer, then employee will have six months from day of hire, or transfer, to obtain, or update, ACLS, PALS or NRP certification. If employee does not have a current BLS at time of hire or transfer, then employee will have one month from day of hire, or transfer, to obtain, or update, BLS, certification
