Position Description: This position, under the direction of the Infection Control Committee and the VP Quality Operations, is responsible for the effective direction, management and operation of the infection prevention and control department.  This includes education of staff and medical staff, consultation within the organization, with CDC and county and state departments as needed.  Responsibilities include compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations (DHEC), outbreak investigation, and overall direction of the infection prevention and control program.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: RN, BSN required; Master in Nursing, Health Care or Public Health a plus. CBIC Certification strongly preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: 5 recent and consecutive years in adult acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated experience as an Infection Preventionist strongly preferred. Documentation of successful completion of basic Infection Control Course required.
