This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with the knowledge of a Registered Nurse. Must demonstrate the clinical ability to work as Primary RN on the Unit to which assigned with the emphasis on the recovery aspect of the patient after a invasive and/or noninvasive procedure. Must be able to coordinates the delivery of patient care on the Unit assign as this position may float amongst various units (i.e. Cath Lab, Surgery's Recovery Room, Diagnostic Imaging, etc.). This position will be assigned after hours/weekend "on call" for the Cath Lab in the Recovery RN role. This position will also perform Abstractor functions for the Cath Lab/Chest Pain Center. The Abstractor duties include but not limited to timely data collection and data submission to various agencies at the direction of the RN Quality/Chest Pain Coordinator and/or Cath Lab Director. Completes required documentation; participates in patient/family teaching and discharge planning, effectively utilizing the Nursing Process. Provides leadership by working cooperatively and effectively with physicians, ancillary staff and other administrative and support personnel in maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice in the multidisciplinary clinical setting. Provides the basic leadership required of a Registered Nurse for subordinate staff on the Unit. Maintains quality delivery of patient care by completing patient assignments in compliance with the Nursing Process, the Arizona Nurse Practice Act, TJC and State regulations and established Hospital Policies and Procedures. Strives daily to give all customers very good care and promotes Havasu Regional Medical Centers’ Standards of Behavior and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

One year RN experience required. Valid Arizona or Compact States nursing license. ACLS within 30 days of hire, Moderate Sediation within 60 days of hire, PALS within 6 months. Hemodynamic Monitoring preferred, Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment; Telephone/Overhead Paging System/Fax Machine/Calculator/Computer. As pertinent to the position, must be able to use computer, telephone, calculator and adapt to new technology as it becomes available and necessary for the job.Must have a positive attitude, even temperament in stress/conflict situations. Must possess the ability to delegate tasks to subordinate team members and oversee their performance. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects; assist patients to and from bed/wheelchair/gurney; and to perform the essential duties of the position. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
