Job Description for Registered Nurse - Rehab:

  1. The Registered Nurse has knowledge of nursing care and is able to carry out routine patient care assignments.   Documents nursing activities and nursing care rendered and works within guidelines of Nursing Services and in collaboration with physicians
  2. Assesses patient’s status and develops, implements and evaluated the plan of care and education based on patient’s assessed needs.
  3. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates treatment based on age specific criteria and provides care appropriate to the age of the patient served (adult and geriatric)
  4. Considers factors and implements actions to ensure safety, effectiveness and cost containment in planning and delivering care to patients, families and visitors.
  5. Administers medications accurately and within the guidelines of the organization’s established policies.
  6. Exhibits flexibility in meeting department needs.
  7. Maintains personal and professional competency and growth according to unit and organizational requirements.
  8. Implements Physicians Orders in a correct, safe and timely manner.  Performs 24-hour chart check in accordance with unit policies and standards of care.
  9. Performs appropriate care of rehab/restorative care patients, focusing on pain control, wound care, foley care, bowel/bladder protocols, fall precautions, knowledge of ADLs, use of adaptive devices, skin care, correct/safe transfer, and ability to communicate with patients with impaired language abilities.
Rehab- Frye’s Rehabilitation Unit consists of 20 beds and offers a comprehensive program for patients requiring inpatient rehab.  Our nurses work collaboratively with our therapy departments to assist patients to achieve a higher level of function and promote independence. 

Job Requirements

Current RN licensure by NCBON or proof of compact license in designated state. 
Current CPR certification.
