Health Support Center

The Senior Director, Clinical Technology Services provides leadership to the strategic development, implementation, and related meaningful use of electronic documentation and other technologies within various care venues within LifePoint Health, and provides clinical informatics and application management leadership to the Ambulatory and Post-Acute Services lanes.

  • Collaborate with clinicians and the appropriate Health Support Center (HSC), practice, and facility stakeholders to plan, deploy, and remediate technology initiatives within ambulatory practices, post-acute care venues, as well as systems focused on care management throughout the enterprise.
  • Develop and execute a strategy for maximum clinician technology as it pertains to clinical systems and workflow to meet the needs of the organization. 
  • Serve as liaison among technology teams, clinicians and HSC Ops Leadership, Quality, and HITS departments to ensure clinical systems needs are clearly articulated and understood so that appropriate solutions can be developed and deployed.
  • Maintain strong leadership role in guiding the development, deployment of clinical systems, materials and process design associated with area of responsibility; including training programs, sample ideal process flows, templates, governance models, technical designs, etc. 
  • Gather, lead, and support a team that has a focused skillset and knowledge on the technology as well as systems support, implementation, design, build, and maintenance. 
  • Support the Quality initiatives throughout the organization and recommend system solutions or aids to enhance the technology solutions for improved patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a change agent to help lead complex, interconnected HIT initiatives.
  • Work directly with solutions vendors in the design, prioritization and adoption of on-going improvements to clinical technology solutions.
  • Support the Quality initiatives throughout the organization and recommend system solutions or aids to enhance the technology solutions for improved patient outcomes.
  • Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.

Job Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Clinical Field
  • Master’s Degree or any equivalent combination 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience; including 5 years’ experience leading technical teams and systems implementations in a hospital or managed care setting.
