SOVAH Health - Martinsville

Helps train new Sleep Laboratory personnel.  Performs patient and equipment set-ups to affect acceptable tracings.  Performs BIPAP/CPAP/ASV titrations. Performs PAP mask fittings. Scores records.  Assists patients. Performs clerical duties. Practice in accordance with state and federal law and health care regulatory standards

Job Requirements

Education:   High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:  One year of experience working in a sleep laboratory which includes at least six months of specific training administered by a Polysomnographic Technologist, Lab Coordinator and Medical Director.  
Skills:  Dual credentialed and practicing in at least two disciplines. ; i.e. CRT/RRT or R.EEGT and Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or its equivalent. Must include licensure if required.
Typical Physical Demands   Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Requires standing,
walking, stooping and stretching.  Occasionally lifts, with assist device and help as needed, and pushes items weighting up to 500 pounds.  Requires corrected vision and hearing of normal range.  Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours and extended shifts.  Requires exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
