Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is currently hiring for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department! The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system. Maintain and balance an automated consolidation system by inputting data; verifying data, etc. Accomplish accounting to established timelines. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses. Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skills and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with development and trends.

Duties included, but are not limited to:

- Prepares general ledger entries in conjunction with monthly closing processes and reconciles general ledger accounts.

-Serves as an interdepartmental liaison. Works with internal and external auditors to prepare for and facilitate audits.

-Maintains monthly schedules for all prepaid and accrued expenses and adjusts recurring entries as needed.

Job Requirements

1. BS in finance or accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. At least 2 years of accounting experience

3. Strong background in budget preparation, analysis, preparing financial statements and posting to general ledgers.

4. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. 

5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

6. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel). 

7. Hands-on detail-oriented tasks.
