Health Support Center

POSITION SUMMARY:

This Systems Engineerwill be responsible for designing, planning, deploying, and monitoring theenterprise wide infrastructure, which also includes disaster recovery andstorage systems. This position will also be responsible for working withLifePoint’s physical infrastructure located in Brentwood, TN, and Plano, TXdatacenters.  This includes servers, Blade chassis, SAN’s, HyperconvergedInfrastructure, and the associated Fiber connectivity switching.

KeyResponsibilities:        

  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for LifePoint’s virtualization infrastructure providing expertise, guidance, and standardization enterprise-wide
  • Triage, document and act as level 3 issues resolution through ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Monitor, analyze, & report information on system performance; identify inefficiencies, issues, and bottlenecks
  • Deploy and manage virtual servers, including server provisioning, upgrading, monitoring, maintaining, performance optimization, and providing diagnosis and remediation of server and application issues within a Windows environment
  • Provides support for the Storage, VMware, Datacenter, Hyperconverged, Backup, and Disaster Recovery teams and ensures effective communication within the team and third party vendors
  • This position will be required to be on call every 3-4 weeks

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience

Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required; Nutanix experience preferred
  • Experience with iSeries or VMWare preferred
  • Experience with Three-tiered architecture or Hyperconverged infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in building effective working relationships with internal customers from the business
  • Experience with the practical use of systems engineering, project management and information systems management and controls systems including ITIL

  • Storage tiering concepts, and the associated storage platforms 
  • SAN protocols
  • Storage and data replication
  • Storage health/performance monitoring and reporting tools 
  • Disaster recovery solutions that leveraging the server and storage environment
  • Storage provisioning practices
  • Forecasting/planning datacenter needs and strategic direction
