Under the direction of an provider, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an provider.
Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection, venipuncture and injections. May administer medication. Documents patient care given.
Responsible for patient triage, including all aspects of preliminary patient care (gathering vital signs, allergies, medications, etc.)
Responsible for medical equipment upkeep; performs control checks as required on necessary equipment and maintains required logs
Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with provider, patient, and families.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Must complete all education assigned and required for the position including classroom and on-line courses.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:  Graduate from program of discipline (Practical Nursing) - Required

Required Skills:  Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) within 90 days of start of position - Required
Required Licenses: State of Tennessee or Multi-State LPN licensure - Required
[Radiologic Technologists and Technicians State of Tennessee - X-Ray Operator in Medical Office licensure - Required
Minimum Work Experience:  Physician Office LPN experience, with Limited Scope X-Ray experience - Preferred
