Job Summary
Manages the daily operations of the hospital security department to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.  Maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while ensuring compliance with all JC, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.

Job Requirements

X Graduate of a Program in a field of study related to security management, law enforcement, social work, psychology or a technical field of study related to safety, engineering or natural science.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure continuity of care and appropriateness of coverage to the patients, staff and visitors of SOVAH Health.

X Basic Life Support (BLS) X American Heart Association X Required 
Minimum Work Experience
Ten years of progressive experience in law enforcement or security management experience is required, with at least three years of these in a healthcare environment, preferably a hospital or hospital system OR a combination of education and Safety and Security experience or leadership experience that would be considered the equivalent of the above. Experience in day to day operation of large hospital security department is preferred.
