Job Description:
  • Works well with other departments for the good of the patient.
  • Performs quality MRI studies.
  • Ability to properly inject patients for contrasted MRI studies.
  • Exercises professional judgment in the evaluation and usage of equipment.
  • Checks physician’s order before performing procedure, ensuring patient, diagnosis, request, and exam all coincide.  Seeks advice when discrepancies occur.
  • Ability to address neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Appropriately interviews MRI patients to check for metal or other contraindications before entering scanner.
  • Careful documentation of pertinent patient and study information.
  • Monitors patients and equipment. Completes follow-up of call reports with physicians, nursing unit, and/or patient. 
  • Accurately bills for procedures and supplies.
  • Monitors and maintains supplies.
  • Monitors and maintains equipment in accordance with ACR accreditation.
  • Performs QC/QA to ensure proper function of equipment.
  • Ability to properly use the I-Stat to measure creatinine levels when indicated.

Job Requirements

  • Must be an ARRT registered technologist in Radiography and MRI or MRI registry eligible. 
  • Proficiency in venipuncture required.
  • BLS certification required or obtain within 1 month of hire.
