Essential Functions:

  • Primary responsibility for neonate/infant medical management.
  • Provides clinical leadership, sound clinical judgment and skill to assure that a high quality of care is maintained for neonates and infants in-house. 
  • Assesses, plans, initiates, delivers and evaluates appropriate advanced nursing practice for care/treatment of neonate/infant.
  • Teaching, assigning, delegating, and supervising other personnel in implementing care and treatment plan.
  • Collaborates with other health care provider in determining the appropriate health care for the patient and prescribing a medical treatment regimen under the direct supervision of licensed neonatologist.
  • Provides teaching and counseling about the patient’s health to the parents or responsible caregiver.
  • Supervises, teaches, and evaluates those who perform nursing functions, administers nursing programs and nursing services.
  • Responsible for the treatment and pharmaceutical regimen for the patient with consultation of the neonatologist.


Job Requirements

Current RN licensure by the State of North Carolina. 

NCBON Certification as NNP.

Current CPR, NRP, PALS, and S.T.A.B.L.E. certification.  

MSN required.
