Qualifications:

This position requires the NP/PA to practice in the Twin County and Wythe County Gastroenterology clinics/hospitals

Education and Experience:

Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training program, certification, and current licensure by the state

One-year of experience as a mid-level provider

Gastroenterology experience preferred

CPR certification required

Responsibilities:

Performs advanced patient assessments and seeks consultation of the physician for patients conditions outlined in agreement.

Demonstrates a commitment to personal growth and development; ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times and complies with all organizational policies.

Arranges referrals to other members of the health care team as needed and to community resources as appropriate.

Orders, performs, and interprets tests within the provider’s scope of practice.

Demonstrates awareness of current state, federal and local laws governing the delivery of care.

Provides for therapeutic treatments and procedures as per delegation of services agreement.

Provides open and timely communication with customers, families, and their significant others and provides educational resources as appropriate.

Ensures timely review of services provided as determined by the providers state licensing board by the providers supervising physician.

Maintains license, certification and CME as dictated and regulated by the provider’s state licensing board.

Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of company bylaws.

Completes required in-services in a timely fashion.

Participates in the development and implementation of patient satisfaction improvements.

Ensures appropriate charge levels for patient visits based on AMA standards.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Ability to travel between Twin County and Wythe County clinics/hospitals.

Standing, sitting, walking, bending (45-90 degree angles) are required.

May require stair climbing.

Must be able to communicate effectively and in written form.

Exposure to blood, body fluids and hazardous waste is moderate to frequent and must carry out universal precautions according to policy.

May be exposed to injury by irrational or disturbed customers, to customers with communicable diseases and/or potentially dangerous equipment.

Speech, hearing, and visual acuity necessary in order to perform job requirements.

Must be able to prioritize; have cognitive reasoning.
