Job Description
Wilson Medical CenterBH Staff Nurse is responsible for the nursing care of patients as team leader, as well as the interpretation and implementation of physician-directed care. Ensures the needs of patients are meet. Consults with family members and other members of the healthcare team. May assume charge nurse duties when adequately prepared.
Job Requirements
Required Education:
□ High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred □ Required
□ Two years of college □ Preferred □ Required
X Associate’s degree □ Preferred X Required
Bachelor’s degree □ Preferred □ Required
Master's degree □ Preferred Required
□ Doctoral degree □ Preferred □ Required
Other: Minimum 3 years in experience providing care in mental health and/or substance abuse. Supervisory experience required.
Required Skills:
- Data Entry using Electronic Medical Record
- Team player
- Ability to handle a high stress environment
- Ability to communicate and react effectively to the unique needs of the patients on the behavioral health unit.
Required License/Certifications:
Valid NC RN License
BLS required and provided
Hospital approved Behavioral Management Program will be provided.
