Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Job Requirements

MinimumEducation:  Associate’s degree Required.  Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required.  

Bachelor’s degreePreferred

 Licenses: CurrentNM RN licensure or appropriate RN Compact Licensure

Certifications:Basic Life Support(BLS) and  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)  must becurrent upon hire.  

 PediatricAdvanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC must be obtained within six (6)months from hire

Newlygraduated RNs must have current BLS to start. They must obtain ACLS andPALS/ENPC within six (6) months from hire or transfer into position 

New hires will have ninety (90) days from dateof hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications.Notwithstanding this ‘grace period’ for obtaining American Heart Associationcertifications, employees are not excused from being current in any and allexisting certificationsthat are required for their position as outlined in the position jobdescription

Required Skills: Requires critical thinkingskills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
