RN in Women’s Services – PRN

Georgetown Community Hospital a 12 minute drive from Lexington, KY is searching for a Registered Nurse to join our Women’s Services unit.  This is a PRN position and you would be a member of a highly skilled team of Acute Care nurses, physicians, and technicians in our Labor and Delivery area.  Your graduation of an accredited school of nursing, current RN license, current BLS, ACLS and PALS are the minimum requirements.  Experience in Labor & Deliver, NICU, and post-partum or pediatrics experience are preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • As an RN you will ensures delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes

  • Revises plan of patient care as needed

  • Provides compassion to the patient and the patient’s family members

  • Every patient entering the unit is assessed and priorities of care determined in accordance with physical and psychological needs, assessment shall include systematic and pertinent collection of data about the health status of the patient

  • Ensure that necessary supplies and equipment be available for patient care

  • Assure the safety of patients, co-workers, significant others, and themselves

  • Interventions taken are based on changing patient needs and are implemented in a safe/effective manner

  • Teaching is an ongoing process that includes provision of information about the patient's condition, patient and significant other responsibilities, and options and recommendations for appropriate follow-up

  • Demonstrates commitment to education and sharing of knowledge through interaction with orienting nurses, students, and pre-hospital care providers

  • Maintain competence and current adherence to established standards of practice


Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

  • BSN preferred

  • All Labor and Delivery trained nurses must showproof of having taken or complete the Association of Women’s Health,Obstetrical and Neonatal Nurses Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course within 1year of hire.

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in theState of Kentucky

  • BLS certified

  • NRP preferred

  • 6 months experience as an RN in NICU,Post-Partum, or Labor & Delivery preferred.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.   Must be able to work in a stressfulenvironment and take appropriate action.
