Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for patients, employees, providers, volunteers, and visitors.  Security Officers are responsible to enforce policy, provide assistance and direction, respond to emergencies, and to provide protection to patients, employees, providers, volunteers, visitors and property. 

Job Requirements

Requires High school diploma or equivalent; current POST Certification; Certification:  current TASER Certification (Required to carry); and three years of law enforcement, public safety or closely related experience. Some appropriate trade/technical/vocational training is desired.  Requires:   Excellent customer service skills. Excellent critical thinking skills, decisive, good judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to exercise independent and prudent judgment in emergency situations. Possess a working knowledge of applicable state laws, especially those dealing with use of force and detention powers. Remains calm and professional in all situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information. Ability to multi-task. Ability to prioritize. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to problem solve. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, professional manner. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Basic computer skills.
